Last week, the NGIO welcomed Peter Tschentscher, President of the Bundesrat and First Mayor of Hamburg, and his delegation of high-ranking business and scientific leaders from Northern Germany to Silicon Valley.
The Northern Germany Innovation Office is a joint initiative of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Bremen and offers companies from these three states access to the strong innovation ecosystem in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.
Hamburg and Silicon Valley have a long and close friendship, thanks to the wonderful work of Hamburg Ambassador Petra Vorsteher and with the support of our Consul General (and true North German) Oliver Schramm. It was wonderful to connect the delegation with some of our close partners and friends at the NGIO, especially GOLDBECK with André Brück and Tim Schönheit, Thilo M. Braun and Florian Dahlhausen with Stanford, and Johannes Rott and Monika Brauers with the Plug and Play Tech Center.
It is great to see the strong transatlantic exchange and friendship between the U.S. and Germany, and we strongly believe in the value of continued and engaged discussion and partnership to create equitable and balanced technologies that benefit us all as a society.
Innovation does not happen in a vacuum – it requires the exchange of ideas and perspectives.
